SHIPPING UPDATE

Based on notices from various publishers, distributors, the USPS and UPS, we anticipate that the last day to place special orders to arrive in the shop by Christmas Eve is Monday, December 14.

As recently reported in the New York Times, the supply chain for books is under strain. "There have been issues with shippers, limited capacity at warehouses and backlogs at printing companies, where books delayed from the spring are running up against releases planned for the fall."

Your neighborhood booksellers are doing our best to keep the books flowing and fulfill special orders as quickly as possible. We will do our best to be clear about the expected timeline for your order, and we thank you in advance for your patience. If you need a certain book by a certain date, please let us know. And if you are open to recommendations or substitutions, we are happy to help.

River Bend is a community resource, and our intention is to remain available to serve you. In order to accomodate web and phone orders, which currently make up a substantial majority of our business, we have closed our shop to browsing.

We remain open for phone and web orders, with adjusted hours. We are taking calls Monday through Saturday 10-4, and temporarily closed on Sunday.
