Virtual Book Launch: Pout-Pout Fish and the Mad, Mad Day
The latest picture book in the New York Times-bestselling Pout-Pout Fish series shows little guppies how to deal with anger through self-compassion.
This virtual book launch includes both the author and illustrator of the series: Deborah Diesen and Dan Hanna.
When one thing goes wrong, and then another, then another stacked on top, a feeling fills Mr. Fish’s gills, much bigger than a blub—a mad, mad “GRRRRRRR!” Mr. Fish tells his worried friends, “I am mad and getting madder, and I don’t know how to stop!” Swim along with the pout-pout fish as he figures out how to take control of his anger through deep breathing, identifying and naming his emotions, and practicing self-compassion. Bright ocean colors and playful rhyme come together in a story that will help kids learn to manage their emotions in a mindful and healthy way, alongside their favorite cast of undersea critters.
Deborah Diesen is the author of the New York Times–bestselling Pout-Pout Fish books, and has worked as a bookseller, a bookkeeper, and a reference librarian. She lives in Michigan with her family.
Dan Hanna has over ten years’ experience in the animation industry, and his work has appeared on BBC America and the Cartoon Network. He lives in Oxnard, California.
